Meet John J. Riehs, DDS

Dr. John J. Riehs, a native of La Grange, Texas, pursued his higher education and athletic interests at Oklahoma Christian University, where he excelled as a collegiate tennis player from 1990 to 1994. His outstanding performance on the tennis court earned him NAIA All-American and NAIA Academic All-American honors.

Graduating summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, Dr. Riehs continued his academic journey at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where he obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. During his dental studies, he was recognized as an Omicron Kappa Upsilon scholarship recipient and graduated magna cum laude, reflecting his academic and clinical excellence.

Dr. Riehs began his professional career in Edmond, Oklahoma, practicing general dentistry in a private practice setting. After five years, he decided to return to Texas to specialize in pediatric dentistry, earning his postdoctoral certificate from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 2007. Following his specialy training, Dr. Riehs settled in Dallas, Texas, to focus on pediatric dentistry and raise his children, Jacob and Hayden. His dedication to providing specialized dental care for children marks the culmination of a career driven by a passion for both dentistry and community service. During his free time, Dr. Riehs enjoys playing tennis and traveling with his children.
